Verity is not yet in Sweden

Hej all... well here it is, my new blog so that I can keep you all up to date with what I am doing in Sweden (if I ever get there) and wherever else my travels may take me. So... I am not in Sweden yet due to visa problems. No I am not a terrorist nor do I have an international criminal record (well not that I know of at least... but there were those oranges we stole from someone's orchard in Mycenae =). I have just been having mundane visa not arriving because no one can be bothered to look at it problems (I hear these are very common). Sounds really dull doesn't it. Wouldn't it be more exciting if I could say something like "I am having visa problems because I am a spy and they are having trouble validating my fake id" or even "I am having visa problems because I once tried to traffic illegal chess sets from Morocco". Okay maybe not but "My visa hasn't come because nobody can be bothered to stamp my application" doesn't sound very cool. And I think if I have to speak to the evil women at the Sydney Swedish Consulate one more time I am going to scream. Speaking to them has been like trying to have a conversation with a lemon then waiting patiently for a reply. Actually I think I would have received more acknowledgement from the lemon.

So, after much pulling out of hair and gnashing of teeth I changed my flight to the next Wednesday in the hope that my visa would be approved by then. And apparantely now it has, but I have to say I won't be satisfied until I am holding it in my hot little hand. So I have had an extra week to pack and get ready which was actually probably a good thing although I am missing Jesper a huge amount. And I am so not looking forward to going in to the city to pick up the visa from those smug, lazy women. I have never come in to contact with people who are so unhelpful. I am going to find it difficult to go in there and not end up pulling someone's hair or stamping on a pointy shoed toe. That probably won't help the visa situation though so I guess some composure would be a good thing.

Anyway I guess that's all I have to say for my first post... hopefully next time I write I will actually be in Sweden so the name of this blog won't sound quite so silly.
