Snot icicles
Yes... with an unpleasant title like that I am sure you can see where this is going. The other day I had the wonderful experience of having my snot freeze. No it wasn't actually cold enough outside to do that (although Jesper claims it does get that cold). Actually Jesper has been telling me for a while that it gets cold enough for snot to freeze but I thought he was pulling my leg a la aussie drop bears style.
But the other day I was helping my supervisor cut up ice samples in the freezer room. It was a balmy -20 degrees, officially the coldest temperature I have so far been in. It wasn't so bad really... we had big coats and my feet didn't start to get cold until half an hour in (then we stayed for another half because it wasn't working properly). By about 45 minutes I was really cold. And my snot froze. I have to say it is a terribly unpleasant feeling... not debilitating in any way... but yuck! The inside of your nose sort of feels sticky and sharp at the same time.
So Jesper... here it is, officially in writing, displayed on the web for all to see. You were right and I was wrong ;).

On Cadet camps my snot would get so much dirt in it when you would blow your nose dirt would come out.
I think freezing it would be worse.

Hehe... we had a joke when I was working on the RC drill rig at Mt Isa (heaps of dust) that we could just sample our snot for copper instead of the rockdust. It was really gross.

On Tuesday night we were painting bags for O-Week and using black spray paint. When I got home and brushed my teeth I thought my nostrils looked very dark tonight. No it was that they were lined with black spray paint. I was just in the general area, not even painting!
Ohh and that last comment was me too, but that should be obvious :)

Eeew black nostrils!
And yes I knew the last comment was yours Matt... anything that begins with "when I was on cadet camp" *grins*. I guess all the best stories happen at cadet camp... apparantely everyone in Germany always says "when I was doing my civil service"... ah army type stories.
